Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal, the Jordanian Medical Association organized the “Gaza: Beat of the Heart” conference in Amman on January 23 and 24, 2025. The conference witnessed the participation of over 100 local and international humanitarian organizations, medical leaders, and relief institutions from around the world. It was convened as an urgent humanitarian response to the catastrophic health challenges facing Gaza’s healthcare sector.

Over the two days, panel discussions were held with extensive participation from physicians and specialists worldwide, alongside live video conferences with officials from Gaza’s Ministry of Health and medical professionals. The discussions focused on immediate health needs, challenges, and sustainable strategies to ensure continuous healthcare services for the people of Gaza.

Appreciation of Royal Patronage and Guidance
The conference highly appreciates the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal, whose directives emphasized the humanization of relief efforts, investment in human capital, strengthening future partnerships, and integrating health and education sectors. The guidance also stressed the importance of investing in key future sectors such as water, energy, food, and climate, including the WEFE (Water-Energy-Food-Environment) initiative for Gaza and beyond.

The conference praises the heroic and pivotal role of Gaza’s healthcare workers and honors their sacrifices and exceptional dedication in continuing to provide medical services. The conference deeply values Jordan’s ongoing support for the people of Gaza and expresses profound gratitude to Jordanian medical professionals who were among the first responders in providing aid to Gaza’s healthcare sector. In a pioneering step toward integrating healthcare projects with donor institutions, the conference launched the “International Health Platform”, the most reliable reference for linking healthcare support projects in Gaza with global donors.

• The platform serves as an optimal tool for sustainable health crisis solutions, containing detailed data on over 100 priority projects for Gaza’s healthcare sector reconstruction, making it the most credible and trusted source in the field.
• Through this globally distinguished initiative, donors can directly access and support targeted projects, monitor implementation progress with full transparency, and accelerate the reconstruction of Gaza’s healthcare system.
• The launch of this platform is a significant achievement in coordinating relief efforts, ensuring effective and sustainable healthcare support for Gaza.
• His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal has adopted the platform as its honorary president, with plans to establish an international coalition based on and overseeing the platform.

Launch of the “Martyr Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh Scholarship”
The conference announced the “Martyr Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh Scholarship” at the Specialty Hospital to support five doctors in completing their specialization in major medical fields, including orthopedics, with a funding of $250,000.

6. Launch of the “Martyr Dr. Serene Al-Attar Scholarship”
The “Martyr Dr. Serene Al-Attar Scholarship” was launched at Istiklal Hospital, supporting residency programs in five medical specialties. Additionally, scholarships from Jordan Hospital and the Islamic Hospital were announced.

1. Financial Commitments and Support
Participants pledged significant financial commitments for Gaza’s healthcare sector reconstruction, totaling over $14 million in donations announced during the conference.

2. Recommendations of the “Gaza Pulse” Conference:
A. Strengthening Medical Supplies and Emergency Response
• Accelerating the entry of essential medicines and medical supplies.
• Providing new ambulances and replacing those destroyed.

B. Rebuilding Healthcare Infrastructure
• Restoring damaged hospitals and primary care centers with a partial reconstruction commitment of approximately $4 million for Kamal Adwan Hospital.

C. Enhancing Public Health Programs
• Expanding vaccination programs to combat communicable diseases such as polio and establishing an effective disease surveillance system.

D. Specialized Medical Care
• Reducing emergency and specialty care waiting lists, particularly for cardiac and renal patients.
• Providing prosthetic treatment and rehabilitation for 20,000 cases, with an estimated cost of $30,000–$40,000 per case.

E. International and Regional Cooperation
• Calling on Arab and Gulf development funds to support health infrastructure projects in Gaza.
• Strengthening partnerships between international and local organizations to facilitate medical aid entry and ensure logistical support for crossing points into Gaza.

F. Medical Education and Training
• Launching specialized training initiatives, including the “Martyr Doctor Scholarship”, to train doctors in critical specialties.
• Supporting pre-graduate and postgraduate medical education and training programs.

G. Mental Health Support
• Developing targeted mental health programs for children, women, and vulnerable groups in Gaza.
• Providing psychological rehabilitation services for the injured, affected families, and medical personnel.

H. Digital Health and Telemedicine
• Expanding telemedicine platforms to provide remote medical consultations and treatments in collaboration with doctors worldwide.
