29th FIMA COUNCIL MEETING & 5th FIMA-IMAM SCIENTIFIC CONVENTION
Dear Muslim Physicians and members of IMAs:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Merciful.
Peace and Blessing Be Upon All. May this message find all in the best state of health physically and spiritually.
I take this opportunity to invite all to Kuala Lumpur between the 13th to 15th September. The Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM) is grateful to Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity to host the 5th Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA) Conference in conjunction with the 14th IMAM Annual Scientific Meeting. This three days conference will be preceded by the 29th Council meeting of FIMA Executive committee.
Currently the Muslim world makes up close to a fifth of the world population with Islam being the second largest religion. The Muslim population globally is expected to double in the next 20 years according to a study done in early 2011.
The increase in population brings with it socioeconomic challenges including health. Unfortunately, the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ten year Action Plan document of 2005 does not tackle health related issues specifically.
At the same time the United Nation Millennium Development Goals of 2000 has targeted basic minimal achievements for member countries to achieve by 2015, many impinging on health issues. For this reason, this years’ Conference has chosen the theme: Health and the Muslim World ; Meeting the Millennium Development Goals”.
Delegates will be able to hear first hand from scholars, practitioners, scientists and policy makers from the Muslim world deliberate on health issues which has been identified by the Millennium Development Goals. Researchers will also be able to present their findings as they actively try to contribute to tackle health related challenges facing the Muslim Ummah.
May Allah Bless all our efforts in making this Conference successful and by doing so contributing to the progress of the Muslim Ummah.

14th FIMA - WAMY Students Camp, Turkey (Announcements)
Dear Brothers,
We are happy to shed some light on IMA's upcoming event "The 14th FIMA Camp". Which will be held in Turkey. Please make note on these important announcements:
First announcement, Registration for the event:
1- Registration will be through the coordinator of your IMA branch. (That will most probably be you, because your E-mail is registered as a coordinator for your branch, if that has changed please send me the name and E-mail of your branch's coordinator.)
2- Enclosed with this E-mail, the brochure for the event (Announcement of 14th FIMA Camp.pdf).
3- Please fill the attached (Registration Form.xls) after you have selected your candidates, then kindly send it to me before 15 June 2012.
4- Please provide the Itinerary details for your candidates. A template for that has been attached (Flight Details Form.doc).
5- Each branch is responsible for properly filling their form and booking the flights.
Second announcement, Financial support:
1- WAMY will support up to 3 candidates from each branch.
2- The support will be up to 500 dollars for each of the 3 candidates. (i.e. up to 1500 $ for each branch.)
3- The support will not be given before the arrival to the event, i.e. after managing to participate. (so you have to manage up until then.)
4- FIMA/WAMY will not cover the expenses that are extra to the event. (that includes accommodations for arriving very early or leaving too late.)
5- the sponsorship is limited and is on a first come first serve basis. (less than 13 seats have been taken and a few are left, so hurry!)
1- Every candidate/branch should acquire their own visa.
