Dear Brothers and Sisters
FIMA Relief – Libya 4
Mercy Malaysia has a team in Libya and we had feedback that the hospitals are very short of nurses. 1,200 nurses left the country including doctors and medical technicians.
The specialty that are most needed are neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons,
anaesthesiologists and physicians.
The most badly affected hospital is Al Beyda General Hospital since it is catering for 3
cities with a population of about 500,000 people. Al Beyda hospital is less equipped compared to Benghazi Hospital.
Mercy Malaysia would be deploying more volunteers soon.
