Message from the President January 2015

The 32nd FIMA council meeting will be held in Makkasar, Indonesia in 10th-15th August 2015 on invitation of Indonesian Islamic Medical Association. The annual council meeting is the most important landmark in the working of FIMA. All the member of IMAs and associate embers-partner organization attend this meeting. The reports of executive committee, executive director and treasurer are presented. The reports on activities of member IMAs are also presented and discussion on agenda items is carried out. The plans for the following year are presented and finalized with approval of council.

IMA of Indonesia, FOKKI, and YARSI University have always played a very supportive role in carrying out FIMA activities. The 2015 FIMA council meeting will be the third meeting hosted by our Indonesian colleagues. They are always remembered for their excellent arrangements, meticulous homework for the meeting, and memorable hospitality. May I request all the office bearers in IMAs to plan ahead of time and make a very visible and lively representation in the FIMA council meeting.

The 16th FIMA Students camp was planned to be held in Bandung, Indonesia in January 2015. However, due to some unavoidable reasons with arrangements of the meeting, the new dates will be communicated soon with Umrah camp dates.

FIMA Yearbook for 2013 and 2014 have already been published, circulated, and placed on FIMA website. All IMAs are welcomed to also place them on their websites.

FIMA relief has been busy with Gazza medical relief, Syrian relief, and flood relief in Malaysia during the recent months. Please remain in touch with Dr Ashraf Jedaar (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) for the updates and your input.

FIMA President will be attending the WHO conference in Khartoum, Sudan on Immunization of Somali Children against Polio and communicable diseases. FIMA President will also attend the World assembly of Mulim youth annual meeting in Marrakech, Morocco this month.

FIMA website has recently been upgraded with a new outlook and user friendly approach. It has rich material and is a source of learning more about FIMA and its projects. Please some time every week to visit the site (www.fimaweb.net)
