FIMA UPDATES 5
1. FROM THE FIMA RELIEF OFFICE
Dear Brothers
Assalamu Alaikum
Ramadan Kareem to you all again. We pray that all your hard work and sacrifices are richly rewarded, Insha'Allah.
My brothers, I am saddened by the dismal response to the cries of our brothers and sisters suffering in the war zones of Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Lebanon etc. Barring the comments from members of the FIMA exco, IMANA, PIMA, IMASA and Hayat Foundation Turkey there have been no positive responses from anywhere else! Have we become complacent by burying our heads in the sand hoping that the problems will be blown away. Prof Aly Mishal has repeatedly appealed for assistance in the management of complicated cases in Jordan. They need urgent support and financial aid. Dr Amin Sinokrot of Scientific Medical Association, Palestine, has urgently appealed for surgical assistance and other medical relief (medicines, supplies, equipment). Dr. Yakub (IMASA) and Prof Iqbal Khan (PIMA) has volunteered, but we need more, much more! Our brothers in Africa (Sudan, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Senegal) have also sought our assistance. Are we going to fail them too. I fully appreciate our limitations to mobilize supplies and cash, therefore, perhaps we all need to liaise with similarly minded NGO's and other international bodies to assist us in alleviating the plight and suffering of our UMMAH around the world (OIC, IICDR etc).
FIMA HAS AN ACCOUNT IN JORDAN FOR THIS PURPOSE. Through this account we would receive all contributions from IMAs and NGO's in a controlled fashion and then distribute these proceeds to the relevant agencies around the world, based on priority. In this fashion, no-one will be overlooked and we would have discharged our duty responsibly.
IMANA has taken the first initiative to contribute USD 50,000.00 towards this noble cause. May I invite all other IMAs to contribute in this blesssed month towards FIMA Relief to enable us to continue to make a significant impact in our humanitarian relief efforts. USD 5-10 thousand per IMA would go a long way towards enhancing our relief works world wide.
